Birdhouse

Another installment in the bird series. Oil pastel on sanded board

Design for my daughter's baby shower invitations. .

There are sooooo many designs for custom invitations, but nothing was quite what I wanted.  Plus the shower is for TWINS, which narrows down the selection quite a bit.   Thus, the pink and blue eggs in a nest (boy-girl twins) evolved.   This is oil pastel on sanded board, 5 x 7.  NFS  "Waiting Patiently"
It really looks great on our invitations.  :o)

another addition to the teapot series. .

One more addition to my red teapot collection.  This one is acrylic on wrapped canvas 10 x 20 x 1 1/2.     "Teapot Flips for Lemons"

30 sec sketch at Sunset Grill Perdido Key FL

Could not resist this touching moment.  A couple enjoying the sunset.  Didn't realize this restaurant was there, and we've been going to Perdido Key/Gulf Shores for 25 years!    Just a lightning sketch in my journal.

Old Courthouse

"Old Courthouse",  10 x 10 x 2 1/2" acrylic on clayboard.   $75   Will probably be on display at Fine Lines Gallery thru the end of Sept.    Experiment with a looser style and color rendering for me.
I had the pleasure of painting the NEW courthouse yesterday morning , along with several other renowned newnan artists (Deborah Kidwell, Dana Johnson, and 3 or 4 others- Elsa Sibley made some sketches as well).   We all had a nice morning before the heat of the day.    The Newnan Courthouse renovation was just completed, and the ribbon cutting was yesterday.   My painting from yesterday will be posted soon--just a few more finishing touches.    LOVE painting outside!   Too bad the ONLY restaurant open before noon is Goldens!!   WE NEED A SUNDAY COFFEE SHOP!!    Although the early morning quiet was refreshing.
SOLD this past week at Fine Lines Gallery!!

Sunflowers I,  11 x 14 pastel on ampersand.   These were decorations for a dinner party, and too pretty to just let them dissappear.  Getting the water in the glass was interesting, since the red sunflowers colored the water pink for some reason.
