October- November 2009 Paintings

"Autumn Cows"  5 x 7, framed 8 x 10,  Oil on panel.     SOLD   A Phillipsburg Farm scene, exhibited in the Christmas Art Show.

"Lagoon View II"  Oil on 6 x 10 x 3/4 cradled board.
One of several views of a favorite seaside site.

"Riomaggiore Street Scene"  6 x 8 x 2 oil on wrapped canvas.  This was from a photo taken a couple years ago during a trip to Cinque Terre.  Lots of great material-- too bad most of the photos were messed up!   Got a new camera shortly after this trip.

"Gulls Dinner",  Oil 5 x 7 on board.  This looked like a regular event for the gulls.

"Phillipsburg Shed"  Oil  20 x 24, canvas wrapped.  First large oil I've done in quite a while.  A combination of two references.    Phillipsburg is a New York park--an example of a working farm from the 1800's.

Christmas show starts today.   The weather is great, so the crowds should be good!

Christmas Art Show Work

Lagoon View, oil , 5 x 7 on canvas board.
One of many completed for the Newnan Christmas Art Show.  A favorite water view from a recent visit to Gulf Shores.

Red Teapot II, oil, 8 x 8 x 3/4, cradled board.

Another quick study of my favorite teapot.  The egg cups are some antiques we picked up during the Plymouth Keilbasi Festival last year.

Week 2 - Millie's class. This one was easy to do. Water is probably bluer than it actually would be, but I like the color anyway :)
5x7 oil on board (sold)

Week 3- Millie's class. Love old shacks, barns--stuff with character, makes you wonder what it was/is used for.

Thought I'd try another one--my reference from Biltmore Gardens. This one definitely merits trying a larger version!
Love working with oils again-especially in this style.
